10 months

Mason is now 10 months old. I can not believe I am stating to plan his first birthday already! Mason has accomplished many new things this month. He is crawling everywhere. He has a very special way of crawling but he certainly gets where he needs to go and fast!

Is he not just the cutest thing you have every seen?

He is pulling up to stand on everything! He is also starting to cruise along the couch. The other day he stood up against the couch and let go and stood for a couple seconds.

The picture below is from the first time he stood up by himself. I went to the kitchen to mix his food and came back and found him this way. He was so proud of himself.

He is just the sweetest thing!

He is also starting to eat thicker foods and getting two more teeth for a total of 4. Hopefully he gets a few more before his first birthday so he can start to eat some real food! Mason is still a super happy baby and is rarely fussy. We got so lucky with him.

There is no stopping him now!

Well folks, Mason is officially pulling himself up to stand! He has been trying for a little while now but today was the day he accomplished it! He also seemed to try to cruise the couch but wasn't quite sure how to do it yet. I think it's only a matter of time before that happens.

He is also crawling everywhere! All the fences and baby gates have returned to our living room. We have blocked off our kitchen and the hallway and Syd's room. He is so fast and can get anywhere he wants to pretty fast. My little man is growing up!

So in love with my children

I am so in love with these children! We were all cuddling on the couch this morning and Mason fell asleep and Sydney just kissed his little (or big) head and covered him up. It was so adorable. She was so worried that his feet weren't covered! She just cuddled up right next to him and got her blankey. It was just so nice to lay with them in the quiet.

Bye bye hot pink cast!

This is from the day she got her cast, before all the signatures! (P.S. she was sick with the flu)

Today was the day, the cast is off! She had so many people sign her cast and she loved that. On the way to the Dr. she said she didn't want it off but I think she is so happy to have her arm back to normal. But I also think she liked all the attention! My big girl did so well at the doctor getting her cast off and getting two more X-rays. They showed her the saw and how loud it was and showed her on our skin how it would feel and that it wouldn't hurt. I just laughed and told her it tickled so she laughed the whole time they were cutting off the cast. On a side note, isn't there a better way to get casts off? That saw would freak me out! Then we got two more X-rays to confirm that she was healed and then we were out of there! She wouldn't use it for most of the day but she is leaning on her wrist now so I know she is fine. I can't believe how much her arm smelled and how dry it was. Her cast was only on for 2 weeks, I can't imagine one that is one for 6 weeks or more. Those people must be funky when those come off! On the way home I heard her in the backseat say, "They can't stop me now!" That made me chuckle to myself. The cast didn't slow her down one bit but it was just so funny that she said that. Then as I was putting lotion on her arm she said to me, "Mommy, I am so glad to have my skin back!" She is so hilarious! I wish I had some pictures to share from our adventure but Keith was holding Mason and Mommy was in charge of Sydney so sorry no pics. I wish I would have thought to take a last picture with the cast and then one right after she got it off but I didn't. I just hope this is the one and only time we have to do this. We have a boy coming up after her so who knows?!

Naked arm! Pardon the mess of a room!

9 months!

Another month has come and gone in the life of Mason Thomas! I can't believe he is 9 months already! I know I always say this but this baby time with him is going way too fast for my liking! I just want my little man to stay little forever. We have made some big changes this month and hit some new milestones!

*Mason is starting to crawl...in his own crazy way! He has an interesting way of getting from here to there but he gets where he needs to go.
*He can also go from a crawling position to sitting up all on his own! I must say I was quite impressed with this move!
*Mason has one new tooth on the top and he is getting another bottom tooth. We are having a hard time with these two but he is being such a trooper!
*He is now on three meals of solids a day! He has been sick for a couple days so he hasn't been eating just nursing but I am sure he will get right back in the swing of things. I will also be adding some meat to his diet this month.
*He is working on using his sippy cup. I am thinking of getting a new one...the one we have I am not too happy with. I had the best training sippy cup with Syd but she destroyed it and of course I can't find it again. Any suggestions?
*He is talking a ton! He says Dada, baba, and papa!
*Mason is such a smiley baby! He just smiles and laughs at you all the time! I was truly blessed with this one!
*I have also noticed that Mason is starting to discover what his toys are really for. He is really starting to "play" with his toys. He got a little work bench for Christmas and he accidentally did something with it and discovered it made a noise, so he continued to repeat his action and laugh each time. It was so cute to watch him discover and explore his world!

We don't go for his 9 month visit until the middle of next month...I think his schedule there got messed up once so we go 2 weeks after he should, so I will update on his weight and height after we go in January.

Happy Birthday baby boy! We love you so much!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Merry Christmas from our family to yours! We hope you have a great holiday season and a very Happy New Year!

Our first broken bone

Well folks...it's official, we have our first broken bone, and hopefully our last! Last Friday morning Keith and I were rushing around trying to get things ready to go to Ohio. Sydney was playing and running around her room when we heard a crash and crying. I didn't think she was crying hard so I didn't even go to her, Keith did. Well she was actually crying so hard that she couldn't get sound out. She was favoring her wrist and Keith thought right away that it was broken. But if you know our daughter she tends to be a bit of a drama queen so we iced it and waited to see if she calmed down. After about 10 min she was not calming down so I called her doctor and they said to bring her in. I got her ready and headed out. We got there and they took one look at her and sent us to the hospital for X-rays. We ended up waiting about 1 1/2 for results. I was not prepared to be there that long and Syd was restless. We went and ate lunch and shopped in the gift shop. We finally heard from her Doctor at about 12:45 that it was fractured. We had to wait around some more to find out if we could get in to see the ortho that afternoon. No such luck. Her doctor's office said we should just wrap it and we could get in Monday. Keith did not like that at all so he called the ER (since he works at the hospital he can sometimes get things done for us that normally wouldn't happen for others) and they told him to send us in the backdoor (like a VIP haha) and they would fast track us through. We were in and out in less than an hour and they were so nice to us. They gave her a splint and wrapped her all up so she was secure for the weekend. They also gave her a stuffed frog. They wrapped his arm up too so he was just like her! She loved that!
So this morning, Monday, we went to the ortho and got her cast. She picked hot pink (with some prodding from Mommy!) and she only have to be in it till January 5th! She has been so brave and such a trooper. I am so proud of how she has taken everything in stride and believe me it has not slowed her down one bit. She is still running around and jumping off of things like she has two good arms
